stay at The Kropak Sidemen and would highly recommend this hotel, especially the Songket Suite, where we stayed.<br \/><br \/>We booked the Songket Suite, the largest suite at the hotel, and it was absolutely beautiful. Located slightly below and set back from the main part of the property, it offers a wonderful sense of privacy and tranquillity, with an incredible view over the valley and surrounding nature.<br \/><br \/>The suite itself is spacious, beautifully designed, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Everything was perfect during our stay. It was incredibly peaceful, with no noise around us, and being surrounded by nature made the experience even more special.<br \/><br \/>Before arriving, we had read a few reviews mentioning that some of the standard rooms are located quite close to each other. Of course, we cannot comment on those rooms as we did not stay in them, but our experience in the Songket Suite was exceptional. If you are looking for more privacy and tranquillity, we would definitely recommend choosing this suite.<br \/><br \/>A very special mention goes to Cokti, who truly made our stay even more memorable. She is an incredibly kind, warm and energetic person, always smiling and genuinely happy to help. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel extremely welcome and took wonderful care of us throughout our stay. She was always available to help, give us recommendations or arrange anything we needed, always with the same positive energy and kindness. She is exactly the kind of person you remember long after leaving a hotel. Everyone we met, from reception to the restaurant staff, was warm, welcoming and attentive. The waiters and waitresses were always friendly and made us feel very comfortable throughout our stay.<br \/><br \/>The restaurant is also very good, and the setting is beautiful. Breakfast and lunch come with a fantastic open view over the Sidemen valley, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Starting the day with breakfast overlooking this landscape was definitely one of the highlights of our stay.<br \/><br \/>The hotel has also recently opened its spa. Unfortunately, we didn\u2019t have enough time to try it, but the facilities looked very nice. Yoga classes are also expected to be available soon, which will be a great addition to the hotel. We personally would have loved to join a class if they had already been available during our stay.<br \/><br \/>The location is another big advantage. The hotel is surrounded by nature and rice fields while still being only around 5\u201310 minutes on foot from the village. From the hotel, we did a beautiful three-hour walk through the rice fields and countryside around Sidemen. The staff were also very helpful in recommending where to go and what to see.<br \/><br \/>There are several local craft workshops nearby, particularly for traditional weaving and silver jewellery, as well as a lovely home decoration shop very close to the hotel.<br \/><br \/>Overall, we had an excellent experience at The Kropak Sidemen: a beautiful setting surrounded by nature, complete tranquillity, a gorgeous suite, very good food and, above all, an incredibly warm and caring team.<br \/><br \/>Our review is specifically based on our stay in the Songket Suite, and we honestly couldn\u2019t fault it. I\u2019ll start by saying I would absolutely stay here again. Kropak had their grand opening two days before my arrival. Upon arrival, I received a delicious welcome drink and was given a tour of the property, walked through the amenities, and escorted to my room. There are a few ongoing construction projects that the staff apologized for in advance. I genuinely did not notice them. As Sidemen is a growing tourist destination, there is construction all around town. It\u2019s hard to tell where sound is coming from and workers are mindful are the time of day. It didn\u2019t disrupt my stay at all. Plus if your doors are closed, you don\u2019t hear anything. The rooms are very clean and beautiful. The pool is massive compared to other Bali hotels.<br \/><br \/>There was a 500IDR deposit for restaurant expenses. (The drinks at the restaurant are delicious!)<br \/><br \/>My only slightly negative note (and this is not a real drawback) is that depending on your room, if your curtains or windows are open, people going up and down the stairs or by the pool may see you. There are blackout curtains and shades. So you have complete privacy when you want, but it\u2019s very tempting to take a bath with the windows open because the view is so beautiful! If you want to have a bath with open shades, I suggest the Gringseng room as opposed to the Engel room (I stayed in both).<br \/><br \/>I want to give a special thank you to Sunitira, Ayu, Ngurah, Puju, and the on-site operations manager and receptionist whose names I am forgetting. Sidemen is a true natural gem that deserves to remain as it is today. Villa Kropak is a superb place to stay, outside the town, with a stunning view of the rice paddies. The welcome is sumptuous, the service impeccable. A true haven of relaxation. We wish we could have stayed longer. The manager, Puja, is wonderful and speaks excellent French, which allowed us to chat with him and learn about his local culture. It is quiet and peaceful with gorgeous views. My room was spacious with a big outdoor bathroom.
