We had a wonderful stay at The Kropak Sidemen and would highly recommend this hotel, especially the Songket Suite, where we stayed.
We booked the Songket Suite, the largest suite at the hotel, and it was absolutely beautiful. Located slightly below and set back from the main part of the property, it offers a wonderful sense of privacy and tranquillity, with an incredible view over the valley and surrounding nature.
The suite itself is spacious, beautifully designed, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Everything was perfect during our stay. It was incredibly peaceful, with no noise around us, and being surrounded by nature made the experience even more special.
Before arriving, we had read a few reviews mentioning that some of the standard rooms are located quite close to each other. Of course, we cannot comment on those rooms as we did not stay in them, but our experience in the Songket Suite was exceptional. If you are looking for more privacy and tranquillity, we would definitely recommend choosing this suite.
A very special mention goes to Cokti, who truly made our stay even more memorable. She is an incredibly kind, warm and energetic person, always smiling and genuinely happy to help. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel extremely welcome and took wonderful care of us throughout our stay. She was always available to help, give us recommendations or arrange anything we needed, always with the same positive energy and kindness. She is exactly the kind of person you remember long after leaving a hotel. A huge thank you to Cokti for her wonderful welcome, kindness and amazing energy! ❤️
More generally, the entire team was lovely. Everyone we met, from reception to the restaurant staff, was warm, welcoming and attentive. The waiters and waitresses were always friendly and made us feel very comfortable throughout our stay.
The restaurant is also very good, and the setting is beautiful. Breakfast and lunch come with a fantastic open view over the Sidemen valley, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Starting the day with breakfast overlooking this landscape was definitely one of the highlights of our stay.
The hotel has also recently opened its spa. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to try it, but the facilities looked very nice. Yoga classes are also expected to be available soon, which will be a great addition to the hotel. We personally would have loved to join a class if they had already been available during our stay.
The location is another big advantage. The hotel is surrounded by nature and rice fields while still being only around 5–10 minutes on foot from the village. From the hotel, we did a beautiful three-hour walk through the rice fields and countryside around Sidemen. The staff were also very helpful in recommending where to go and what to see.
There are several local craft workshops nearby, particularly for traditional weaving and silver jewellery, as well as a lovely home decoration shop very close to the hotel.
Overall, we had an excellent experience at The Kropak Sidemen: a beautiful setting surrounded by nature, complete tranquillity, a gorgeous suite, very good food and, above all, an incredibly warm and caring team.
Our review is specifically based on our stay in the Songket Suite, and we honestly couldn’t fault it. If we ever return to Sidemen, we would happily stay at The Kropak again.
